BJ Cole is a legend in his own lifetime. His pedal steel guitar has given a tinge of difference to the work of, well, just about everybody. From post-psychedelia in the early seventies with his group Cochise, through Marc Bolan, Scott Walker and John Cale to the likes of Bjork, the Verve, Spiritualized, the Orb and Beck, if it slides and comes out of the UK, Cole was probably behind it.
Luke Vibert, first came to BJ's attention with the Plug album, 'Drum And Bass For Papa'.

Giraldo Piloto and his band Klimax are leading the new generation of Cuban bands playing a style known as timba. Timba incorporates son and rumba but mixed in with salsa, funk, rock and rap. The sixteen piece line-up features three vocalists and a storming brass section and are ackowledged as one of the best live Cuban dance bands. Klimax - because Latin music doesn't begin with Buena Vista Social Club and end with Ricky Martin.
